The Alvarez family is just one of seven local families whose lives are being changed thanks to a partnership between The Salvation Army and American Signature Furniture. Working together, the charity and the furniture company are making dreams come true for families in need; families like Rose Alvarez’s.
Rose is a single mother of four children. She was a caregiver to an elderly woman who recently passed away. This left Rose with no job and no way to cover her family’s most basic, everyday needs. When the family’s resources ran out, they even became homeless. But thanks to the support of generous donors like you, The Salvation Army way able to step in and help Rose.
“I’ve been blessed. God has moved mountains for me and The Salvation Army has done everything in their power for me,” Rose says.
Through the many programs of The Salvation Army, we were able to provide Rose with help finding a new job and a new place for her family to call home. Most importantly, we provided the Alvarez family with new hope. As Atlanta Area Command Major Todd Hawks explained, “it was very important to give Rose back her independence.”
Thanks to the partnership with American Signature Furniture, Rose and her family didn’t move into an empty house – they received the furniture they needed to start again.
Most families benefitting from the partnership haven’t had a place to call home in a very long time – some have never had one. So, a roof over their heads, chairs to sit on, and a simple table to eat at – things that most families take for granted – are a near miracle to struggling parents like Rose.
They are so thankful to have a place to put their kids safely to sleep at night, somewhere to sit down after a long day at work, a comfortable bed to sleep in. Not least, they realize that all is not bad, that there truly is a light at the end of the tunnel.
With help from compassionate people like you, The Salvation Army and caring companies like American Signature Furniture, families such as Rose’s are equipped and ready for a new chance at life!
