Each year, The Salvation Army provides hundreds of disadvantaged metro area youth life-enriching summer activities through our residential and day camps.
Activities like boating, nature walks, swimming, and field trips have been proven help improve self-esteem, independence, friendship skills, social comfort, peer relationships, adventure and exploration, environmental awareness, positive values and decisions, and spirituality in at-risk youth.
In 2009, 587 local children participated in Salvation Army residential and day camp programs.
Over the next few months we will be posting photos and testimonials from camp staff as they ready the camps for a summer of fun, weekly stories and photos from campers, and videos and other links about our summer camping programs.
