On February 25, The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center hosted a “Feed Our Community Luncheon” in honor of a weekend long celebration of African American arts, music, food and more.

The center opened its door to the Pittsburgh community as volunteers and staff from King of Hoops, Atlanta Battlecats, Team Scotty and Atlanta Xplosion Football Team helped serve over 160 meals to local homeless men and women.

The volunteers rolled up their sleeves, put on aprons and served hot nutritious meals which included; baked chicken, green beans, rice and gravy, salad, and dessert.

“It’s always an honor for me and my team to volunteer for the community in which I was born and raised,” explained Scotty, label owner of Presidential Music. Team Scotty believes that giving back to the community is an essential part of progressing as an Atlanta based company.

The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center Atlanta is a 53,500 square-foot worship, arts, education, and recreation facility located in the Pittsburgh community. The center serves as a beacon of hope and a place of refuge for the spiritually, creatively, and physically hungry members and community alike.
