 Braves donate $100,000 to tornado relief

The Braves announced they’ve made a $100,000 donation to the Salvation Army to help in relief efforts for tornado victims across the Southeast. They are using that donation to start a campaign and ask fans to donate at Braves.com/donate. Braves wives will collect funds in Monument Grove at every game through May 17 beginning when the gates open in the second inning.

The Braves are also beginning a drive to collect for items to be donated to tornado victim at Turner Field, their minor league ballparks as well as 38 Express Oil Change stores.

Listed below are ways to donate to The Salvation Army Tornado Relief:

  • By phone: Call 1-800-SAL-ARMY and designate “April 2011 Tornado Outbreak.”
  • By text: Text “GIVE” to 80888.
  • By check: The Salvation Army Disaster Relief P.O. Box 100339, Atlanta, GA 30384-0339. Please designate “April 2011 Tornado Outbreak.”
  • Online: Click here to donate through the Salvation Army’s website.
