Helping Beat The Heat

In an effort to help our clients at The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center beat the summer heat, we distributed 20 “ Lasko™ box fans to individuals without air-conditioning units or sufficient funds to pay for air-conditioning units.

On June 8th, clients were lined up just before 9 a.m. to receive this much needed-donation. Thanks to a supporting foundation of the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, we are able to provide these clients with relief from the hot summer heat.

In just 20 minutes, The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center depleted their supply of over 60 fans.

The Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta provided The Salvation Army with 1,000 box fans for individuals and families seeking assistance throughout metro Atlanta programs and services. They are being distributed through select programs throughout our 13 county service areas.

After receiving her fan, Nina Jeanty said, “The Salvation Army doesn’t realize just how much this fan is a blessing to me. I have three kids, one fan and no air-conditioning. I am so grateful to you all for this wonderful gift.”
