On July 30, 2011, during their Alabama Day Game, the Atlanta Braves presented The Salvation Army with a check for The Salvation Army’s Alabama/Georgia Tornado Disaster Relief efforts. The check for $111,488 commemorates donations made by the Atlanta Braves Foundation as well as funds raised through the use of Salvation Army Kettles at Turner Field for a two-week period following the disaster.
At the time of the check presentation, the Salvation Army had served 875,629 meals and snacks to tornado victims throughout Georgia and Alabama.
100 Salvation Army Emergency Disaster volunteers, as well as the Morrow Family, who were affected by the Alabama tornadoes, were our special guests!
THANK YOU to the Atlanta Braves Foundation and Braves Country!
