On Saturday, November 12th you will begin to hear the familiar sounds of over 300 Salvation Army bell ringers across Metro Atlanta. Since 1891, this well-known tradition has helped millions of people in need during Christmas and year-round.
We were honored to have the First Lady of Georgia Sandra Deal kick off our Red Kettle Campaign at the 1st Annual Silver Bells Reception. As Honorary Chair, Mrs. Deal rang the silver bell and made the first kettle donation on Monday, November 7th.
For 120 years, The Salvation Army has started the Christmas season with the Red Kettle Campaign. “Ringing bells is not only a tradition, but also a necessity. Without red kettles, bell ringers and donations, we would not be able to help those in desperate need,” says Major Marshall Gesner, Metro Atlanta Area Commander.
The Red Kettle Campaign will run through December 24th in hopes to generate $2.0 Million. With your help, we will be able to provide holiday assistance through toys, clothing, meals and other services.
Help your neighbor this year by donating to The Salvation Army Metro Atlanta Red Kettle Campaign. Visit www.salvationarmyatlanta.org for more information.
