The Salvation Army of Gwinnett County hosted its annual luncheon this past Friday, May 8th, at Sonesta Gwinnett Place. The luncheon featured Salvation Army National Commander, Commissioner David Jeffery, as a special guest speaker.
Elliot Brack was honored during the luncheon with the prestigious Others Award, which honors an individual or organization exemplifying an extraordinary spirit or services to others. This award is one of the highest honors given by The Salvation Army internationally.
“We are so thankful to have supporters like Elliott who are just as passionate about helping our neighbors in need as we are,” said Captain Andrew Miller, Salvation Army Lawrenceville Corps Officer.
Also featured was a client testimony highlighting a family assisted by The Salvation Army after being provided stable housing, which strengthened their ability to be self-sufficient and thrive. Proceeds from the luncheon will help fund The Salvation Army of Gwinnett’s homelessness prevention, financial emergency assistance and children’s conservatory programs.
“Every day The Salvation Army of Gwinnett sees the promise of a different future for individuals in need. It is the greatest good we do and the stories we should share,” said Captain Miller.
