Over 200 runners and volunteers joined The Salvation Army of Metro Atlanta on Saturday, May 30, for the first Kettle Krush 5K in beautiful Piedmont Park. The inaugural race celebrated the 125th year of The Salvation Army’s presence in the Atlanta community.
The Kettle Krush 5K, Different Season Same Reason was created to bring attention to the much-needed social services to individuals and families in dire need throughout the year—not just the Christmas season. In the last year, The Salvation Army provided over 120,000 nights of shelter to men, women, children, and veterans and served 168,509 meals to those who were hungry and homeless in our community. We also assisted over 38,500 families who were in a crisis.
